Topics covered include: fashion fundamentals, elements and principles of design, fashion history, consumerism, and fashion-related careers, with an emphasis on personal application. Basic hand and machine sewing techniques are introduced. Then students select fabrics and sew projects of their choosing. Related college and career opportunities are also explored.
