Membership is based upon scholarship, service and character.
To be eligible for membership a student must have:
•       A non-weighted minimum average of B+ in 3 years of Regents or honors math with no year-end mathematics grade lower than a B
•       A cumulative overall minimum GPA of 3.75
•       No mathematics Regents grade below a 75%
•       Each member must remain in a mathematics class their senior year
•       Recommendations by two former or current math teachers
•       Recommendation from the grade level administrator

In addition to the academic requirements, participation in service activities are required, with a student completing at least 5 hours per semester in one or more of the following activities:
1.      Tutoring in the Mathematics Resource Center
2.      Mathlete team member
3.      Serving as an officer of Mu Alpha Theta
4.      Organizing Pi Day (2nd semester only)

Each member must attend the Induction Ceremony in the high school auditorium or your membership will be rescinded.  Special consideration will be given to students that have extenuating circumstances
