Human Development

Are you considering a career that involves children or think that you want to be a parent someday? In class you will explore the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of infants and children while also acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to care for them in a positive and nurturing environment. This course also includes completing an internship at the Port Washington Pre-K and/or Daly Elementary School. Creating safe and age-appropriate lessons and activities to stimulate children’s learning, and exploring complex issues such as child abuse/neglect, divorce, teen parenting, children’s health issues, and the changing family are explored throughout the class.
