Port Washington Food Day

The District Nutrition Committee is sponsoring our annual Food Day fresh produce drive on Wednesday, October 26th. We're asking students to bring in one piece of fresh produce and drop it off as they enter the school in the morning. We will have volunteers stationed at the student entrances of each building.

The fresh produce will be delivered to the local food pantries in town.  This includes St. Peter's, Our Lady of Fatima, and possibly others depending on our collection.

Suggested produce items include:

Apples
Potatoes
Onions
Broccoli
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Avocado
Carrots
Lettuce
Celery
Cabbage
Fresh corn
Collard greens
Yellow plantains
Green bananas
Cilantro
Green peppers
Beets
Yucca
Mango
Papaya

In addition, the Nutrition Committee is seeking volunteers to assist with Food Day on Wednesday 10/26/22. If you have any availability Wednesday morning please sign up to help out at either your child's school or a local food market.
