Schreiber Student Selected for NYSSMA All-State Electronic Music Showcase

Congratulations to Paul D. Schreiber High School student Elias Carrera on being selected for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Electronic Music Showcase at the NYSSMA All-State Conference in December.

Students in all grade levels are eligible for consideration, and Elias is one of only eleven students from across New York State selected.

Elias’s selected composition, “Le Cœur de la Mer,” will be featured in the Electronic Music Showcase, as well as also receiving an Honorable Mention for a separate composition titled “Uplink.”

Director of Creative Arts, Kevin Scully, stated, “Having a student who possesses the creativity needed to compose music, coupled with the technological skills required for electronic composition is a rare combination. These types of interdisciplinary connections are a great example of what the district’s Portrait of a Graduate encourages students to create. Congratulations to Elias on this recognition!”
