2025 Community Volunteer Guide
PAUL D. SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL
Community Service Mission Statement
Contributing to the community enables students to see themselves as part of the larger world, and to realize that they have the potential to make a difference. In this spirit, Paul D. Schreiber High School expresses its commitment to the idea that volunteerism is valuable to both the students and the community. The Schreiber High School Compact Committee establishes that community service should be encouraged, promoted and supported in every possible manner.
Schreiber High School will work as a partner with community organizations to identify needs and to develop ways in which students can help solve community challenges. Our students will have access to the informational tools necessary to become fully aware of the service opportunities available to them.
Participation in community service will increase self-esteem, provide exposure to potential career interests, and reinforce positive values. In turn, the community will gain from the time, talents and energy of caring student volunteers. Ultimately, we hope that altruism becomes its own reward. The experience of service benefits the giver and the receiver and leaves the world a better place.
The identification of the community service organizations in this guide is simply a beginning effort to link students with service options that match your needs and interests. Please feel free to explore these service opportunities as well as others not discussed in this guide.
THIS GUIDE INCLUDES LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
