Paul D. Schreiber High School Research Program Receives Top Honors at Regional Competitions

The Paul D. Schreiber High School Research Program is celebrating a historic season of achievement following a series of top-tier finishes at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF), New York Science and Engineering Fair (NYSSEF), the SAAWA Senior Competition and Bright Minds Sparkle Competition, and the Long Island Water Challenge.

From groundbreaking environmental proposals to sophisticated engineering projects, Schreiber students demonstrated exceptional rigor and innovation, solidifying the school’s reputation as a powerhouse in STEM education.

At the SAAWA (South Asian American Women’s Alliance) competitions, Schreiber researchers showcased their ability to communicate complex ideas to the broader scientific community.

    Environmental Innovation: The LI Water Challenge

The 10th-grade Science Research class achieved a major victory for the Port Washington community by winning 1st Place and a $2,500 grant for their proposal in the Long Island Water Challenge. The grant will fund their research into local water conservation and quality solutions. The winning team includes:

Ashley Guo, Charlie Tropp, Elyssa Geisler, Emerson Milroy, Jackson Brous, Jed Michael Mallari, Jesse Streim, Lila Hershman, Lily Salit, and Natalia Weinshank.

The program also celebrates Ben Moses, who was recently named a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar. This distinction is one of the highest honors a high school senior can receive, recognizing the nation's most promising young scientists.
