National Art Honor Society Bylaws

Section 1. These bylaws are consistent with the NAHS constitution and are specific to Paul D. Schreiber High School chapter of the National Art Honor Society.
Section 2. To qualify as a member in good standing, a member must pay dues and complete fifteen service hours each in freshman and sophomore year in the arts outside of any other service hour commitments. Group service opportunities may be presented and will be announced as offered.
Section 3. Officer nominations for the executive board will be held at the first meeting of each school year. Those interested will speak to club members and a blind vote will follow. The board is limited to those students in 11th and 12th grade in good standing.
Section 4. Annual dues of $5 will be collected from each member when they enter 11th grade.  This charge covers registration fees and other expenses.
Section 5. Attendance is required at meetings to maintain membership and privileges. Minimum meeting requirements are set at 50% and announced at the beginning of each school year. For officers, attendance is also required at any executive meetings called outside of the regularly scheduled meetings.
Section 6. To graduate with NAHS honors and earn the right to wear a cord, pin or tassel at graduation, a member must remain a member in good standing until the graduation date.
Section 7. Members must retain a B average as stated in the National Constitution, in any art classes completed at Paul D. Schreiber High School.
Section 8. Members may remain active during such time when there are no visual arts on their class schedules as long as they fulfill all of the other requirements each year.
Section 9. Members who lose their good standing status do not need to reapply. They may return to member status the following school year by fulfilling all requirements for that school year.
Section 10. In the event of an infraction of rules, a review by the sponsors (and administration of the school when necessary) will be conducted. If the individual in question is an officer, he/she will not participate in the decision-making process.  This applies to all community laws as well as school and chapter rules.
