Junior Year

December - April
● Attend Junior post secondary planning night on Wednesday, December 13th 2023.
● Submit your Junior planning documents to your Counselor via Google Classroom.
● Junior planning meetings begin the week of January 8th 2024. Your Counselor’s Sign Up Genius link will
be on their Google Classroom.
● Register for SAT/ACT and study!
● Choose a rigorous academic program for senior year.
● Use Naviance to research colleges and interests.
● Attend your local Congressman's Military Academies Forum if applicable.
● Visit college campuses, either virtually or in person (if available).
● Request teacher recommendations.
● Attend the Schreiber College Consortium on Wednesday, April 4, 2024.
May
● Take the SAT/ACT.
● Request teacher recommendations (if you have not already done so).
● Submit your Junior planning documents to your Counselor via Google Classroom and schedule a meeting if
you have not already done so.
● Create a system to organize your college materials.
● Continue to research colleges and plan summer visits.
● Contact college admissions offices for appointments for interviews and tours - check websites!
● Register for the NCAA on the clearinghouse www.ncaa.org
June
● Take the SAT/ACT.
● Add “Colleges I am interested in” to Naviance Student and discuss with your Counselor.
● Continue to make appointments for college interviews and/or tours.
● Begin researching scholarship opportunities. https://www.fastweb.com/
July- August
● Continue to make appointments for interviews and/or tours.
● Register for fall SAT/ACT if needed.
● Work on and revise your Common Application essay.
● Common Application opens August 1, 2024.
● Attend Counselors' Common App workshop August 16, 2024 - more info TBA

Senior Year

September 
● Meet with your Counselor to discuss potential colleges and next steps in the process.
● Obtain the SAT/ACT schedules and register for appropriate tests.
● Contact an Armed Services Recruiter if you are planning to join the Military.
● Attend Schreiber Mini College Fairs (dates to be announced).
● Attend College Rep Visits at Schreiber - register through Naviance Student.
● Request teacher recommendations through Naviance Student.
● Register for the NCAA www.ncaa.org if you have not already done so.
● Attend Senior College/Financial Aid Night (date to be announced).
October
● Attend Open Houses at colleges.
● Attend College Rep Visits at Schreiber - register through Naviance Student.
● Submit application processing forms for Early Decision/Early Action no later than October 15th.
2024. This allows our office sufficient time to process your documents. 
● Apply for Scholarships.
● Discuss college essays with your counselor, English teachers, and parents.
● Take the SAT/ACT if needed. Check your College’s requirements for sending test scores.
● File FAFSA and CSS PROFILE https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/ forms as soon as possible. 
● Be sure to check your College’s deadlines for filing student financial aid forms.
November
● Meet early decision deadlines if applicable.
● Attend College Rep Visits at Schreiber - register through Naviance Student.
● Finalize college choices and continue to work on applications.
● Submit application processing forms to the Guidance Office as needed.
● Apply for scholarships.
● Take the SAT/ACT if needed. Check your College’s requirements for sending test scores.
● Notify your Counselor if your college requires first quarter grades!
December - January
  • Pay attention to deadlines
  • Complete applications for rolling admissions as soon as possible. Some programs fill up early!
  • Check Naviance for a list of scholarships. You can also research and apply through https://www.fastweb.com/
  • Request mid-year transcripts on Naviance.
February - March
  • Update Naviance with all of your college acceptances, rejections and waitlisted statuses.
  • Update Naviance with all of your scholarships, grants, and awards.
  • Check Naviance for a list of scholarships. You can also research and apply through https://www.fastweb.com/
April - May
  • Update Naviance with all of your college acceptances, rejections and waitlisted statuses.
  • Update Naviance with all of your scholarships, grants, and awards.
  • Notify your Counselor of the school you will attend. 
  • Check Naviance for a list of scholarships. You can also research and apply through https://www.fastweb.com/
  • Be sure to submit your deposit at the college of your choice by the May 1st deadline.
June
  • Notify your Counselor where your final transcript should be sent.
  • Meet all deadlines to ensure your place in college.
