Bake Shop

Are you a fan of “Cupcake Wars” or “Cake Boss?”  Would you like to learn to bake your own desserts and decorate them?  This course offers an introduction to the science and art of baking.  Students will explore and experience the basic principles of baking, recipe formulations, functions of ingredients, and kitchen procedures. Students will prepare a variety of breads, cakes, cookies, pies, custards and candies.  They will practice cake decorating techniques and working with puff pastry. Recipe modifications for allergies, dietary restrictions, and nutritional benefits will also be explored.
